Congratulations to my other half here at Dtek, my long-time friend and business partner Rhys. He was married last week at a gorgeous ceremony in Ojai, California. Cheers, Rhys and Nicole! May you enjoy a long, peaceful, prosperous life together.

We’ve just launched a new web site for Urban Policy Development, a Baltimore-based urban planning firm that connects public development needs with private capital and management.
The site gives UPD an initial presence on the web, and in the future will provide details on UPD development projects. We’re excited about the site’s uber-flexible and minimally-elegant design: our best example yet of semantic and accessible code that can respond effortlessly to the visitor’s monitor, browser, font, and other preferences.
Pay a visit to updconsulting.com.

If you’re up on your Dtek news, you know we’ve been working quite a bit with ImpactGames, the creators of PeaceMaker. Last week, on February 1st, they hit a huge milestone by officially launching the game for the public.
We’re proud to have played a role in this milestone, consulting on many behind-the-scenes technical changes, and overseeing development and launch of both the ImpactGames and PeaceMaker web sites, including coding and consultation on their graphic designs.
The game is getting a ton of press, too. We’re not gamers (though apparently the gaming world is embracing it), but the concept alone makes our participation in this project one of our proudest accomplishments to date.

We’ve been working closely with the ImpactGames crew, consulting with them on many aspects of their online presence. We recently helped them get up and running with their own Wordpress-powered blog.
And we just helped them launch their new company branding site, impactgames.com! As with the PeaceMaker site, we took an existing design of theirs, consulted with them on the technical aspects and implementation, did all of the coding, and performed a host of administrative and advisory tasks.
Watch out for the pending release of the PeaceMaker game!

Access is a California-based women’s health clinic. We audited their old web site last year and helped them outline improvements for usability, accessibility, and ease-of-maintenance. Last week we finished redesigning their new site at whrc-access.org!
The site features a warm and colorful new logo and graphic design, with a more intuitive and flexible menu structure. It’s also much simpler to maintain — Access has already started making their own content changes.
